When a readymade won’t do, a custom frame is the answer! Custom framing allows us to create an entirely customized, unique look for your unique art. We tailor each component to fit your art precisely from the style of frame and mat, to the type of glass and mounting options.
We feature over 1,000 frame selections with over 300 unique styles of custom mouldings, 5 types of glass and framer’s grade acrylic including UV-filtering and museum-quality. We also have an almost unlimited variety of conservation-quality matting in hundreds of colors and textures in both 4 and 8ply. Our frame designers are the same people that hand-fit your art into your new frame and mat, ensuring the constinuity of care and workmanship.
Custom Cut Mats
The easiest way to dress up your art is to pair it with a custom cut mat! We stock a large selection of conservation-quality mattings as well as pre-cut standard-sized mats that work with readymade sizes available in our frame it fast room. If you’re in need of something less “run-of-the-mill”, we offer custom shaped mat openings that will add that extra POP! to your piece of art!
With just a few measurements and a bit of discussion, we can help you decide between oval cuts, equilateral triangles, decorative corner cut options, and V-grooves (a V-shaped groove cut into the mat that exposes the core of the mat along with the main mat opening. We feature a CMC(computerized mat cutter), which allows for intricate cuts and precise cuttins for all types of projects.
Ready-Made Frames
No time to wait? Our Frame It Fast Center offers beautiful pre-built, ready-made wood frames that can typically be finished in a day or less. These standard-size frames are built with the same care and expertise we apply to everything we do with added convenience. They are sold as “empty” frames so you can customize them with matting, glass and other design elements.
These pre-built frames are built from our in-stock frame remnants and “short-stick” moldings. These are quality wood frames built to our gallery standards as opposed to the plastic, stapled together readymades available in the big box and craft stores. Sizes range from 5 x 7 to 24 x 36 inches.
